Downtown Birmingham is always buzzing with new renovations, exciting activities and plenty of culture. With baseball season fast approaching, nothing says summer in Birmingham like catching a Barons game at Regions Field. Whether you’re looking to take a date, a group of friends or go with family, supporting the local baseball team is always fun; and it’s about to get even more exciting.

Switchyard logo.A new addition to Regions Field has been announced: The Switchyard on 14th. The concept includes airstream trailers refurbished by local business, Silverliner. The airstreams will then be used as a “Foodstream” and a “Barstream” to serve cocktails and local brews. And while the Foodstream is billed as a “gastropub-type,” it should have a menu that will appeal to both adults and kids according to a press release from the Birmingham Barons. Alongside the outdoor eating area will be games everyone can enjoy, including bocce ball and ping pong.

The Switchyard on 14th will be perfect not only for patrons of Regions Field, but also for hosting parties and events. With new Birmingham restaurants on the way and more Birmingham businesses involved in the process, Regions Field is sure to be bustling more than ever this summer. While we’re still waiting to hear the operating hours of The Switchyard on 14th, here’s to hoping it’s ready for baseball season this year.
