With endless champagne, parties, sparkly dresses, silly hats and a kiss to top it all off, New Year’s Eve is pretty much a challenge to see how much fun you can fit in one night. For those planning on staying in Birmingham to ring in 2017, here are some events to put on your calendar:
The second annual Bassnectar NYE360 will be held at the BJCC arena. If you didn’t get a chance to ring in the New Year last year with one of the nation’s hottest DJs, this is your chance. Prepare for blast off with this space-themed dance fest in an arena filled to the brim with fellow bass heads and newcomers alike. There is nothing subtle about this party. Bassnectar will be centered in the middle of the arena with the audience surrounding him (hence the 360 name), and you’ll be head banging right alongside him.
Noon Year’s Eve at the McWane Center
If you’re looking for a fun way to spend New Year’s Eve with the kids, or you just can’t seem to hide your inner science nerd, consider celebrating a few hours early and stop by the McWane Center for Noon Year’s Eve. There will be boatloads of sparkling juice, an exciting and monumental science demonstration with dancing all the way into the “noon” year when the clock strikes 12 (pm). You’ll have a blast bringing in 2017 without yawning.
Resolution Run at Red Mountain Park
It is well known that most all New Year’s resolutions involve becoming healthier. Why not run into the New Year? Red Mountain Park is hosting their Resolution Run on December 31 with good friends, good food and the beautiful park as your scenery. This will ensure your fitness resolution will start off on the best note possible.
