Binge watching is the norm these days. We sit for hours, watching and re-watching our faves on streaming services. It’s such a popular activity that some center their social life around it. But if you’re looking to break the cycle of streaming and insert more culture into your social life, the Birmingham Art Crawl is the answer.

The first Thursday of every month from 5:00 to 9:00 PM. Rain or shine, the art goes on. So there’s no excuse to miss it.

Downtown Birmingham. More specifically, 2nd Avenue North around the Pizitz Building.

The crawl gives painters, sculptors, glassmakers and other artists from Birmingham a place to display and sell art. It’s also the perfect place to the discover the talent Birmingham has to offer. Best of all, it’s free to the public! You can find a list of upcoming artists and performers here.

If you’re a Birmingham artist, the Crawl offers a great place to show and sell your art. The Art Crawl accepts submissions from painters, sculptors, woodworkers, jewelry makers and other artists. However, your work does need to be original and family friendly. If this sounds like the right spot for your work, head on over to the Art Crawl’s website. There, you can submit an application along with a $15 fee. If your work is selected, you can display your work on a month-to-month or yearly basis for a fee. They even offer helpful hints for showing and selling your awesome art.

So once a month, come out of the shadows. Breathe in the fresh Alabama air. Impress some family, friends, co-workers or a significant other with your sense of culture. Break the cycle of monotony and come out to the Birmingham Art Crawl and chill.
