The Library in the Forest allows visitors to enjoy the outdoors while nestled in a comfy chair reading a good book. This little library in the neighborhood of Vestavia Hills sits on the edge of a forest. It features a long wall of floor-to-ceiling windows, giving visitors the perfect chance to sit back, relax and enjoy nature and literature at the same time.

Boulder Canyon Nature Trail

This nature trail can be accessed near the Library in the Forest or Vestavia Hills Elementary Central. You can escape the hustle and bustle of the city as you walk from the library to the elementary school or vice versa. The Boulder Canyon Nature Trail also features a waterfall and bridge that will make it hard to believe you’re only minutes from Highway 31.

Wald Park, Civic Center, and Pool

Wald Park is home to 5 baseball fields, a walking track, a swimming pool (for residents only) and a community playground. Whether you want to exercise on the track, take a dip in the pool or let the kids burn off some energy on the playground, Wald Park is a great way to get active outside.

McCallum Park

Cozy McCallum Park has a lot to offer. Attractions include a wide open field that would be a perfect place for a picnic or a game of frisbee. They also have walking trails, grills and a little creek, all of which make McCallum the ideal location for a lazy afternoon.

Sibyl Temple

Sibyl Temple is one of Vestavia Hills‘ most iconic attractions. It was originally built on the private property of George Ward, a former mayor of Birmingham. The building was meant to be a replica of the Temple of Sibyl in Tivoli, Italy. Now it has been relocated to Vestavia Hills and is home to some of the best views in Birmingham as well as a great garden. Sibyl Temple is a popular place for picnics, weddings and other events.
