There is no shortage of Halloween events in Birmingham. With activities for the courageous and faint of heart alike, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Sloss Fright Furnace
What’s Halloween without a few scares? At Sloss Fright Furnace, you can experience the beloved Birmingham landmark like never before. Explore the tunnels and crevices that you’ve never seen, accompanied by terrifying characters and stories. (Expect deranged clowns this year.) And if the manufactured scares don’t get you, there’s always the chance you’ll encounter the real ghost said to haunt Sloss Furnace year-round.

Howl-O-Scream Festival at Homewood Parks and Recreation
October 29, 10am-2pm
If horror films and haunted houses aren’t really your thing, stop by Homewood Parks and Recreation Center’s fall festival. Halloween events in Birmingham don’t have to be full of terror, so bring your whole family for an afternoon of games, rides, inflatables and treats. Wear your best costume for a chance to win a prize and be sure to eat as much candy as possible. (This kind of sugar overload is only acceptable a few times a year.)

Atrox Factory
If you’re prepared to be seriously scared this Halloween, head over to Atrox Factory in Leeds. For Halloween in Birmingham, it’s hard to be the Southeast’s largest indoor haunted attraction. This terrifying warehouse is full of heart-stopping twists and turns so intense you’ll need to watch hours of Disney movies to settle down afterwards. Be prepared for creepy characters from zombies, sea creatures, monsters and everything in between designed to make you scream. Get your tickets early — they sell out fast!
