Spring break may be over, but spring’s still in the air. Work and projects are the last things on anyone’s minds. All you really want to do is go outside and enjoy the sun. But don’t feel guilty: spring fever is just a natural part of life. However, it is important to stay focused on work so you can properly enjoy that summer vacation when it comes around.
Don’t Be Afraid to Indulge
Feeling stuck inside when the sun is calling out to you? Go outside. Take a walk. Make a picnic. If you don’t indulge these impulses at all, it’ll only keep you from focusing later on. Limit these little activities to only a couple times a week, so as to not get carried away.
Take Your Work Outside
If possible, take lunch outside. Working on the weekend? Bring your laptop and folders to an open park. You’ll be able to stay relaxed while focusing on the work that needs to be done.
Keeping healthy snacks on hand is always a must. When you’ve got spring fever, a healthy snack helps you stay focused and mentally alert. Apples, granola bars and strawberries are excellent options.
Exercise in the Morning
Before starting your work day, do your exercise in the morning. Take a bike ride, run on a track or do whatever your favorite cardio activity is. Exercising clears your head and keeps you energized and focused for the rest of the day.
Spring cleaning can do wonders to keep you focused in your apartment and in your workspace. Cleaning your desk and reducing physical and digital clutter will clear your mind and indulge a bit of that restlessness. A clean space will keep you focused and ready to work.
