It’s Friday and after a long week of work or school, you’re ready to let loose. Once you have your crew in tow, here are a few neighborhoods to ensure your weekend is one for the books.
In the ever-so-changing Birmingham that we live in, Avondale has become one of the hottest spots for locals. A day’s worth of fun could be spent all on 41st street. For lunch or dinner, you have options at some of Birmingham’s most popular restaurants, including Post Office Pies which was voted Alabama’s best pizzeria. Between Avondale Brewery and the bar at Saturn across the street, you might end up having a little too much fun. If that is the case, The Avondale apartments are conveniently located within walking distance.
If you have ever gone out on the town in Birmingham, you’re probably no stranger to Lakeview. It’s a central location for a lot of the city’s favorite bars and restaurants. Looking for a place to take your date? Restaurants such as Five and Babalu make for perfect spots to keep you both entertained and full. Gathering a group of friends to paint the town red? Bars including Innisfree and Tin Roof will have you dancing all night. Luckily, the apartment complex, 29 Seven, is right above Hattie B’s so you’ll always be in the center of the hustle and bustle.
3. Loft District
Many of Birmingham’s new restaurants are located in this district of downtown Birmingham, including El Barrio, Bamboo and Paramount to name a few. Good food won’t be the only thing you find here, either. Bars such as The Collins and Carrigan’s show off their skills by serving some of the best cocktails in the city. Just a few blocks over from these hot spots is Station 121 apartments, directly above Sprout and Pour’s cold press juicery and Orange Theory Fitness.
4. Five Points
Five Points has been faithful to Birmingham for many years. Well known to the neighborhood are Zydeco and Blue Monkey. While Zydeco gives a high energy music scene, Blue Monkey will give you a perfectly mixed drink. If you want to take advantage of this prime location, La Salle Apartments will put you right in the middle of the city scene.
5. Mountain Brook Village
One of the most well-known suburbs in Alabama is Mountain Brook. With its excellent school systems, friendly neighborhoods and beautiful atmosphere, it’s an ideal place to call home. Mountain Brook Village hosts some of the city’s trendiest shops and restaurants for all ages. The Grand Bohemian Hotel is new to the Village, but gives a smorgasbord of activities to choose from while offering a fresh and local influenced cuisine. To stay close to the activities, Lane Parke Apartments is located within the Village’s proximity.
